NEW UPDATE

We thank you for your consideration in working with us, with that said at this time with the growing number of individuals testing positive for Covid-19. This has made some of our interpreters more cautious when it comes to on-site assignments and currently accepting Over-the-phone Interpretation (OPI), Remote Simultaneous Interpretation (RSI), and Video Remote Interpretation (VRI) assignments.  We value all agencies and wish to be upfront with you on what we can offer at this time. Interpreters are considering assignments on a case by case basis.

INTERPRETER SERVICES

We provide professional interpreters to help agencies communicate with their clientele.  Our trained interpreters ensure that clients and providers understand each other, overcoming barriers both linguistic and cultural.

HOW IT WORKS

Contracted agencies contact the interpreter coordinator to schedule an appointment for an interpreter.  Interpreter services are delivered by trained bilingual (Mixteco-Spanish) interpreters.  Trilingual (Mixteco-Spanish-English) interpretation is more limited but also available.
We assign an interpreter and invoice the client-agency by the hour on a monthly schedule.   Current contracted agencies include health providers, school districts, and legal services.

ADVANTAGES OF A PROFESSIONAL INTERPRETER

* Convenience: Access to a pool of trained Mixteco interpreters from one source.
* User-friendly: Easy process to request and schedule an interpreter.
* Training: Interpreters receive ongoing training and specialization on specific subject matter and         terminology
* Confidentiality: Each interpreter is bound by a confidentiality agreement to ensure client privacy.

Many agencies that choose not to hire a professional interpreter rely instead on a client’s family member, friend, or even a client’s child, to interpret.  Misunderstandings, breaches of confidentiality, or potentially life-threatening errors can result.  The use of professional interpreters is recommended—and often required—to ensure clear communication.

The training received by interpreters was designed on a set of standards of practice and protocols that are applicable and relevant to any other setting. These standards and protocols are widely accepted by the language interpretation industry at large.

To ensure the highest quality possible, interpreters have been trained to strictly adhere to Confidentiality, Impartiality, Respect for individuals and their communities, Professionalism, Integrity, Accuracy, Completeness, and Cultural Responsiveness.
